The day has come. Our live in babysitter Nana Tyler moved out of our downstairs today to her own, cute little rental house. While we are very sad to see her go, we are so happy that she has her own place! The best part – it’s only about 3 blocks away. I have a feeling we’ll be taking very frequent walks to Nana’s house. Over the river and through the woods…
This is how our day began. Good morning baby! (Notice her teeny-tiny pony in her hair. Haha!)
Then Nana ran out to get the truck and Maddie and I surveyed the job. Yikes! Lots to move.
I asked Maddie if she was going to move all the big stuff. Her response – “but I only have two hands.” If that girl isn’t too smart for her own good. I thought she was supposed to be three.
Husband and I loaded up the truck. This was load one. There ended up being two. The second one was pretty small, but it just wouldn’t fit. We probably could have made it in one, but why force it. It was only a mile drive after all.
On the way to Nana’s house
Lunch break. Can you tell we just got our phones for Christmas?
Steve finished the last load with Nana at about 3pm. Not too bad. And it ended up being a beautiful afternoon.
And all empty *tear*. We are sad to see Nana go. But we do have some big plans for this space. Before Nana moved in it was our family/play room (as you can see by the bookshelf/TV area and the 2 tone kids paint on the walls). After living that way for a while we have decided it makes way more sense to have the playroom upstairs. So we are turning our downstairs into a giant master suite! Hooray!
Did you see the craigslist armoire ($50!)? This is project #1. I’m itching to get started.
This will be a long term project. School starts back up tomorrow and I still have clinicals, my NAC test, and volunteering to do. My free time is going to be zilch. Hopefully we’ll get a free weekend or two. Maybe by spring break Steve could take a couple of days off work. We shall see. For now, Maddie is having a blast running around downstairs (especially since it’s the only place she is allowed to run in the house). I told her she can practice her new ballet and gymnastics moves down there (she starts both classes next week!)
I have to end with two things. A big thank you to my husband for all his hard work today with moving and such. Also, another big thank you to him for letting me have some alone time and taking the girls to the mall for 2 hours. I lit candles and put Adele on loud – it was FANTASTIC! I definitely need that every once and a while.
BTW…Look at this adorable candle holder I got at Goodwill last month. I love Goodwill.
